New Normal is the condition one finds themself in when "normal" life is permanently altered. 9:00 P.M. on November 14, 2017 a New Normal was imposed upon my life. That was when a SUV turned into my path and my motorcycle collided head on. I lost half of my left leg, use of my left arm, and was in a coma. Miraculously I lived and have regained nearly full use of my brain. YET I LIVE! Rather than focusing on my losses I am happy to be alive. Despite the major losses, disabilities, constant pain, and daily challenges, I am happy to be alive every day. Michael C Myers SHORT BIO Dallas Museum of Art "Young Master" with his painting "Dormant Man" his first attempt at oil painting and portraiture in his Senior year AP class. Accepted to SAIC School of the Art Institute of Chicago on scholarship, Michael chose instead to study Neuroscience and "Arts and Technology" at UT Dallas, until the accident cut his studies short going into his Senior year. Michael's art has been compared by art professionals to Lucian Freud, the works of young Picasso, the sketchbook drawings of faces and hands of da Vinci. At the SMU portfolio day the professor said he already has "a style", the goal of professional artists. Michael continues to recover as he creates in paintings and sculptures. Michael shares a studio with his father, sculptor John Myers. Together they pursue their passions of creativity and coffee roasting. |
